Snow World: Download Your Files from Yahoo GeoCities

  • Khan · 2 months ago
Great help. I would like to one good tip, which you will find very helpful.

When you select All files, it downloads *All* the links on the page. Do the following to filter only your website as follow:

In step 6, select "all files". Now it will select *everylink on the page and download it".

In DownThemAll, click on + sign in front of "Fast Filtering". Here right down your user name (yahoo id). For example if you yahoo id is "mywebsite". Enter "mywebsite" here.

Now click on "disable other filter". This step is important. You will notice that the check box in downloadable files is selected only to your website and not all the links on the page.

Now click start. Create a proper folder first. In this step it will download all jpgs, zip and html in just one easy step. The html will contains advertisement as was said in the original post. (But there are easy wasy to remove it later).

    I hope it helps.

Thank you for sharing!! ^_^ I am not so good with using filtration systems/features :p That certainly helps, not just with this one (Geocities) but in other cases as well.

Same. Yahoo should have at least provided an easy way of doing it like auto-zipping. But then, I guess that is why they're shutting down the service because they do not want to dedicate anymore manpower to it :p

They probably pulled-out every able person from geocities :p and moved them elsewhere. It really is goodbye, no turning back.
